Lately Tyler is obsessed with Mowgli. As soon as he wakes up or walks in the door he attacks him. He’s old enough to now that if he lays on top of our very fat cat he’s going to get scratched. He doesn’t seem to mind. In fact, I think he likes it. Mowgli must also love the rough treatment because he rarely runs away.

Madison is struggling with Math and science this year.  She does most of her homework with just as a little supervision which I provide everyday.  In addition to her regular homework, the school also has a voluntary program called sunshine math.  It is designed to provide more challenging, critical thinking concepts.  In fact, they are so challenging that I have a hard time doing them with her.  That’s when Neil steps in with his super engineer math skills.  It is sometimes very frustrating but he (usually) keeps his cool.

Today madison woke up with a wild hair up her butt to put on a play.  She wrote the play, drew out backgrounds and collected the players.  The night before we watched Lord of the Rings so, coincidentally, her play was cold the search for the Golden Ring.  She set up seating for the grown ups, made tickets and invited all her stuffed animals.  Although the story was light on plot, it wasn’t lacking in enthusiasm.  The child definitely has an amazing imagination!

We attended cousin Mikey’s 7th birthday at Semoran Skateway.  Once Tyler got the hang of skating he was on his way.  He loved it so much that after 3 hours of skating he still wasn’t ready to take his skates off.

Day 18-The Zone

I’m not going to lie, Madison and Tyler fight alot. Over the years we have noticed an amazing phenomena known at “THE Zone”. It is the rare occurrence when both kids agree on a game and play nicely for hours. The kids call it simply “The Game”. As much as I can tell, it entails dragging out all thie action figures, Dinasours, Bratz, Barbie’s, etc and creating an odd universe where they all play together. The Zone usually trumps everything else we have planned for that day. It’s a delicate thing and any change can tip the balance away from the Zone.

Awesome photos. The journaling is great, too, to help remember all those little things we forget over a year’s time. 🙂

I have to put my second week together yet. =P

very cool Miss Lily!! My brother, sister and I had a “the game” as well. I don’t remember a bunch of details but I do remember seeing my mom and dad peak around corners at us when we would be at play 🙂 The kids will be glad for the documenting of it!
